: At least 30 secondary (schoolchildren in Canterbury (were issued with traffici offence notices during the ("Mind That Child” campaign ■ ifrom September 5 to 10, said : i the district officer of the ■Transport Department (Mr D. L. Hogan). Some who com- ( mitted more serious offences might appear in the Children’s Court. Many children were warned about their road behaviour. There were many cycling offences. Offence notices were issued to children who failed to stop their cycles at a stop sign, and notices were also issued for cycling with insufficient lights and for riding more than two abreast. Several motorists were warned that their speeds p-st school buses were too high, but the behaviour of drivers at school pedestrian crossings was generally good. —
