Attendances at the 22 games played by the British Rugby League team in this year's tour of Australia was 394,000 —about 41,000 less than in 1962. The three test matches, however, drew 166,500 spectators, 20,000 more than the three 1962 tests. Total receipts In Australia were £108,688 against £127,348 in 1962, the English Rugby League secretary, Mr W. Fallowfield, announced yesterday. Gate receipts for the New Zealand section of the tour were £17,636 against £23,724 in 1962. Because of the drop in gate takings the players’ bonus would not reach the record £572 a man for the last tour.
