Conference Of Grocers
The grocery industry was a changing and dynamic trade, and it was encouraging to see that small grocers had banded together to form an organisation that was more economic, said the Mayor (Mr G. Manning) when opening the eighth conference of the Good Housekeeping Bureau of New Zealand last evening. There had been many changes in the trade, but perhaps the most important was that the lessons of security in union had been learnt and put into practice. In particular, the value of co-operative buying and advertising had been realised, he said. About 50 retailers and wholesalers from all over New Zealand are attending the conference. It will end tonight.
