DECISIVE MATCH
Top Teams To Meet Soccer opens a second front this week-end. with the start of one competition and the continuation of another. Tomorrow, the first round of the English Cup knock-out will be played, and on Sunday a further round in the Supporters’ Club sponsored tournament.
The pick of the week-end’s seven matches is the meeting at Western Park on Sunday morning of City and Western (the time has been brought forward because of the televised World Cup final in the afternoon). This match will probably decide the winner of the Supporters’ Club tournament.
Both teams are unbeaten and with equal points from ' the same number of games.' City and 'Western have car- j ried all before them this season, each having won two! competitions, and the winner’ on Sunday will be excellently; placed to claim its third title.' City plays the main game in ! the English Cup at English Park tomorrow, when it plays High School Old Boys. Tech-' nical and Rangers meet in the ! early game, while Western: plays Waterside at Western! Park and Shamrock meets! Shirley-Nomads at Riccarton ■ Domain. City. Shamrock and Western will be strongly fancied to go through to the semi-finals, but the Technical-Rangers clash is less easy to predict. Technical beat Rangers. 3-0. last week in the Supporters’ tournament but tomorrow mayfind Rangers in more determined form.
