POLICE FIND GIRL
Two cars of detectives and uniformed police with dogs went to a shingle pit at Harewood early yesterday afternoon after a report was received that a man had taken a young girl there. About 1.45 p.m. a motorist reported to Traffic Officer R. Stobie that he had seen a man, who had been at a street corner for some time, stop a 10-year-old girl in Wilton crescent. Bishopdale, and take her away on a motorscooter. Traffic Officer Stobie and the motorist went in tbe direction the motor-scooter had taken and found it beside the road. There was no sign of the'man and girl. The traffic officer radioed his department’s office and the Central Police Station was informed.
The police found the girl, who had come to no harm. The girl’s parents thanked the police when they returned her to her home.
