Rural-Urban Fringe
People both in the city and country who are interested in agriculture and other forms of land use in the immediate neighbourhood of Christchurch will have an opportunity of attending and taking part in a public discussion on this subject on Monday evening. The discussion on land use in the ruralurban fringe is being jointly sponsored by the Canterburysection of the New Zealand Geographical Society and the Canterbury section of the New Zealand Institute of
Agricultural Science. A panel representing widely varied interests has been assembled under the chairmanship of Professor W. B. Johnston, head of the geography department at the University of Canterbury. Members of the pane] will open the discussion with short statements and will then be available to answer questions and discuss matters raised by members of the public. The meeting will be in the University hall in Worcester street beginning at 8 p.m.
