THE Department of Civil Aviation has vacancies for Youths who will not be more than 18 years of age by the end of 1966 for career training on work associated with the installation and maintenance of the wide and complex range of telecommunications, radio and radar equipment necessary for the safe and efficient running of modern air transport. School Certificate with at least 50 per cent in mathematics is essential Trainees attend a Technical Institute during the working day each alternate week to study for stages 2 and 3 of the Radio Technicians’ Certificate for one year and then continue under similar arrangements for a further year studying radio theory, radar and telegraphy Facilities are available for more daytime study fo the New Zealand Certificate of Engineering iTelecommunications) for selected trainees who complete the basic training with good passes and who hold the N.Z.C.E. Intermediate Certificate.
