AUCKLAND, Sept. 9

A Rotorua Maori housewife with two children, Mrs Rea Potts, yesterday passed her local launchman's ticket in Auckland and became one of the few women to get the Marine Department qualification.

Mr Potts is a fireman in Rotorua and runs launch fishing trips on the lake in his spare time. “Now that my wife has a ticket she will be able to help me in my business,” he said. He said his wife had been working for the exam for about 18 months. “She has had to fit in her work between household duties, as well as minding our two children, aged five years I and a half, and three.
