Adviser Quits White House

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9.

Mr Eric Goldman, a prominent historian and writer, has resigned as a White House adviser amid reports that he felt he had failed in his job of promoting co-operation between President Johnson and the academic world.

Mr Goldman, who says he will return to a teaching post at Princton University, came to the White House three years ago.
