THE SHRUBBY CINQUEFOILS, of which Potentilla farreri is a good example, are hardy little shrubs which grow readily in almost any soil, given good drainage, and can be placed in part shade or full sun. Closely alternate-leafed, they bear strawberry-like flowers in spring and through into summer. The colour is usually a shade of yellow. They are an ideal border or rockery subject.
