Even Chance Keen In Riccarton Trial

Even Chance is making promising progress for a spring campaign. He showed he had freshened since the Grand National meeting in a good gallop with Jester Jinks on the No. 7 grass at Riccarton yesterday.

Ridden by M. King, Even Chance gave Jester Jinks (E. G. Low) a start of about two lengths from the six furlongs, but soon ranged alongside and was shading his stablemate at the end. His time for the six furlongs was Imin 23 l-ssec, and he ran the final three strongly in 39sec.

Agrippa is one of the stronger Riccarton hopes for the staying three-year-old classics this season. He has done a useful amount of work in preparation for the John Grigg Stakes at Ashburton.
