RACING Combination Strong Wingatui Prospect

"The Press” Special Service

DUNEDIN.

Combination, which has been scratched from the G. J. Barton Memorial, will be a well supported candidate for the Tally«Ho Handicap, the first leg of the Otago Hunt Club’s T.A.B. double at Wingatui tomorrow.

Combination had two starts at the Grand National meeting at Riccarton for a second and a fifth.

On the second day of the meeting he beat all but Fairlane over seven furlongs in the Selwyn Handicap and after being well back in the August Handicap on the last day he finished behind Careen, Mosambo, Mukupai and Jester Jinks. Mogambo was a disappointing fifth at Gore on Saturday, but should be more at home in the heavy going likely at Wingatui. At the Grand National meeting he was sixth in the Winter Cup. third to Fairlane and Combination in the Selwyn Handicap, and runner-up to Careen in the August Handicap. Castle Gregory, top-weight with 7-13, was an impressive winner at Gore last week. He won over a mile on a soft track at the Dunedin winter meeting. Flyway made a bold showing at his first start for the season when he dead-heated for third with Just Peter at Gore last Saturday. Sir Athol mixed hurdling

and flat racing successfully during the winter but has been disappointing in his most recent appearances. Glenmorven is a likely improver. He will appreciate the drop in class and will be suited by the smaller field. Fields, with form, for the T.A.B. double races are:— 1.45 p.m.— TALLY-HO HANDICAP,
