LINEMAN KILLED
Pole Hits Lines A Central Canterbury Elec-1 trie Power Board lineman died from electric shock while working in Ellesmere' road. Lincoln, yesterday. He was David Hewer, aged 38. of 4: Garvins road. Hornby. He; was married with two children. Mr Hewer was assisting! with the installation of a concrete power pole beneath a i 33 000-volt overhead circuit when the pole touched the lines about 1.15 p.m. He was taken to Christchurch Hospital by St. John Ambulance but was found to be dead on arrival.
