C.V.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 31. The hotel industry needed experienced men, the Minister of Tourism (Mr Eyre) said at a reception for six hotel executives who have been selected for a hotel management course in England. The six will attend a special course at the Blackpool Technical College. The Hotel Association, the licensing trusts and the Tourist Hotel Corporation are supporting the scheme. The six are Mr C. V. Cable, assistant manager, Grand Hotel, Wellington; Mr P. K. Flood, assistant manager, Chateau, Tongariro; Mr G. R. Hendry, assistant manager, Hotel St. George, Wellington: Mr G. L. Phillips, trainee manager, Royal Oak Hotel, Wellington; Mr C. J. Taylor, manager, Blenheim road Motor Inn, Christchurch; and Mr P. F. Trehey, manager, Manchester Hotel, Feilding. They will return to New Zealand in May next year. Second In Sprint.— A. New Zealander, P. Robinson, was beaten by G. Rolland, of France, in a pre-quarter final round of the world cycling championships amateur sprint in Frankfurt.
