Union Secretary To Attend Talks
The general secretary of the New Zealand Freezing Workers’ Association (Mr F. E. McNulty) has left for Australia to attend the biennial conference of the Australian Meat Industry Employees’ Association. The conference will be held in Melbourne from September 5. Among the subjects to be discussed would be new methods of beef dressing and boning and mechanisation in the freezing industry, Mr McNulty said. Workers in New Zealand and Australia were very concerned about such problems. Mr McNulty said he would be particularly interested in conditions in Australia, such as long-service leave, sick pay, and holidays.
