Market Still Reels But Trend Steadier

Still reeling from Wednesday’s set back, the market yesterday again had falls well ahead of rises, but the trend was steadier. Zip Holdings made the best advance of the day by recovering Is of recent sharp losses in sales at 10s. In the short list of rises Andrews and Beaven at 41s, Bell Radio at 20s 3d, C.P.D. at 16s 9d, David Henry at 37s 6d, Neill Cropper at 25s 6d, and Wilson Cement at 22s 6d each improved 3d, while McKendrick rose another Id to 4s 9d. Sharp falls by some key stocks were a feature of trading. New Zealand Refrigerating fell 8d to a new low level for the year of 13s, N.Z. Forest Products lost lid to 245, and Winstone contributing Is 9d to 295. New Zealand Breweries edged back another Id to 13s 4d.
