DISPUTE AT TURANGI
Cook-house Reopened (N.Z. Pres® Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 1. The Fletcher Construction Company today opened its camp cook-house at Turangi to the 116 employees who went on strike yesterday for three days over the camp sergeant’s working conditions. When the men made their decision on Wednesday, the company immediately closed the cook-house, but after representation from a Labourers’ Union official today, the cook-house was reopened. There were no developments in the strike today and no settlement is likely before Monday.
