Exports By Air In July A Record

A record tonnage of air exports eligible for special freight rates was flown out of New Zealand in July. The total cargo in this category carried by Air New Zealand, 8.0.A.C. and Qantas exceeded 100 tons a month for the first time.
More than 161 tons of i ] cargo was carried at normal 1 [freight rates, making a total|l [ 262 tons carried out of Auck- I [land, Wellington, and Christ-[ church in July. Prime meat cuts carried to Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Pacific Islands accounted for 31.6 tons of the reducedrate cargo, fish for Australia seven tons, and Aucklandmade toys for Australian markets more than six tons. Veterinary vaccines totalled nearly six tons and carpets nearly five tons. ; In the four months ended] July 31, Air New Zealand.; Qantas and 8.0.A.C. carried [ ! 61.75 tons of meat to Hong! Kong, Singapore, and Kuala ’ Lumpur. If the present carriage growth continues, this year’s I total will show at least a 50
per cent increase on last year for meat flown from New Zealand to the Orient
