SOLD FOR £45,500

Two Sockburn Properties Two lots were sold for £45,500 and two lots were passed in at £48,500 when buildings and land owned by B.P. (New Zealand) Ltd., in Blenheim road, Sockburn, were offered at auction yesterday. The land, of an area of 11 acres 15 perches, is zoned industrial C. The first lot offered, three acres one rood 15 perches of bare land, was bought for £25,500 by Mr R. R. Livingstone, as agent. The opening bid was £20,000. There were five bids of £lOOO and one of £5OO. Wood Bros., as agent, paid £20,000 for two acres one rood five perches at the corner of Watts road and Blenheim road. Improvements on this block include a building of 3500 sq. ft. and a five-roomed house. The initial bid was £15,000. There were five bids of £lOOO. An office block and four storerooms, on three acres 9 perches with a frontage of four chains and a half to Blenheim road, were passed in at £34,000. A back block of vacant land of two acres one rood 26 perches with a right-of-way to Blenheim road was passed in at £14,500/ The sale was held by Ford and Hadfield, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr Denys Chapman.
