U.N.E.S.C.O. 20

As one of the events being arranged to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of U.N.E.S.C.O. which falls on November 4 this year, the New Zealand National Commission for U.N.E.S.C.O. has written to national commissions throughout the world asking each for 20 paintings by school-children of various ages which will form an international exhibition of school art. The art and crafts branch of the Education Department is arranging for this exhibition to be assembled and mounted for showing throughout New Zealand. Over the years the National Commission for U.N.E.S.C.O. has contributed children's art ’o many overseas competitions and exhibitions (the latest being 81 paintings sent to Korea) but this is the first "me that fully representative international exhibition will have been assembled in Naw Zealand.
