West Coast Fire Warning

GREYMOUTH, Aug. 29. Fire officers in Greymouth and Hokitika this morning warned of the fire danger on the West Coast as the province entered another day of bright sunshine And drying winds.
A report from Ross this morning said that the big scrub fire, five miles south of the town, had burned itself out. This blaze, which reached a peak early last evening, had an estimated one-mile front. The fire was confined to swampland.
