Course For Police
Two Christchurch police constables will attend a course on search and rescue operations at the Trentham Police Training School from September 1 to September 7. They are Constables R. T. Kennedy and A. P. L. Cunningham. The course is for members of police Search and Rescue Organisation squads and is intended to instruct them in the techniques of fieldcraft and search and rescue. They will also be instructed in the requirements of field equipment and supply, and the operation and organisation of a search.
Chief Inspector L. D, Bridge and Sergeant P. G. Wiersma will direct the course.
Disease.—Five cases of pulmonary tuberculosis were reported in the Christchurch health district last week. Those affected were a woman in her twenties, a teen-age girl, a man in his seventies, a man in his thirties (all in the city area) and a woman in her forties in the Selwyn county.
