BRISBANE, August 29.
The Australian Federal Government should supply funds to buy nerve poison to kill abandoned pet cats, according to the Central Queensland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty.
Cats abandoned at roadsides were killing birds and lizards to survive, said a spokesman for the society. “These birds and lizards eat insects, and when cats kill them there is a chance that the balance of nature is being upset,” he said.
