School Buses Defended
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, Aug. 26. The Minister of Education (Mr Kinsella) said in Parliament today that he could not recall any accidents involving school buses last year in which schoolchildren were seriously injured. He said he could not agree with the president of the Road Passenger Services Association, who was reported as saying that school buses were “a disgrace to the country.”
All school buses had to conform to tests and inspections by the Transport Department and had to satisfy the Education Department's requirements as well.
