An inquiry was held into the running of the hot favourite, Doctor Barry (J. D. Litten) in the Louisson Handicap. first leg of the double at Addington on Saturday. Doctor Barry broke at the start and was at the rear all the way. Litten said that the horse tangled and ran in, hitting the running rail. This unbalanced him completely. Litten’s ’evidence was substantiated by a film of the incident. An inquiry was held into the breaking of Friendly Tom in the straight with a round to go. After hearing evidence from G. A. Laing, the driver of Friendly Tom and W. E. Lowe, it was decided to fine Laing £lO for careless driving. N.Z. METROPOLITAN TROTTING CLUB INC.
