Keino Mile In 3:53.4
I (N.Z.P A.-Reuter —Copgripht) LONDON. The Kenyan, K. Keino, won the Emsley Carr mile at the British Games on Saturday in 3min 53.4 sec—a United Kingdom all-comers’ I record. | Keino, winner of the mile ’and three-mile events in the I Commonwealth Games, was never pressed. He went into I the lead after the first lap <and opened up a wide gap. There had been speculation {that Keino would make an attempt on the world mile 'record of 3min 51.3 sec, set by J. Ryun last month. But with no-one to challenge him, {Keino was not pushed to his i limit. D. Graham (Britain) was second in 3:59.2, A. Simpson (Britain) third, 3:59.8, and R. Doubell (Australia) fourth, 4:0.5.
