ST BEDE’S BALL
Sketches of St. Bede’s College personalities were a feature of the decorations at the Winter Garden for the college Old Boys’ Association ball on Saturday. The college crest hung in the foyer and the college flag in the hall. Pot plants and hanging baskets completed the decorations. About 550 attended the ball. Guests were welcomed by the president (Mr P. G. Egden) and Mrs Egden. Specially invited guests included the rector and staff of the college: brother director and brothers of Marist House: and representatives of the Christ’s College Old Boys’ Association: the St. Andrew's College Old Boys’ Association: the Christchurch High School Old Boys’ Association: the Christchurch West Old Boys’ Association: the Xavier College Old Roys’ Association: the St. Kevin’s College Old Boys’ Association: the Shirley Boys’ High School Old Boys’ Association: the Marist Rugby Football Club: the St. Bede’S College Parents’ Association; the St. Patrick’s College Old Boys’ Association: the Auckland Grammar School Old Boys’ Association; the Timaru High School Old Boys’ Association: the St. Mary’s Convent Old Girls’ Association: the Sacred Heart College Past Pupils’ Association: the Villa Maria Old Girls’ Association; the St. Margaret’s Old Girls’ Association: the Sacre Coeur Old Girls’ Association: and Mr and Mrs J. Eathorne.
