TURKISH QUAKE
Red Cross Aid (N.Z. Press Association* WELLINGTON, Aug. 21. The New Zealand Red Cross Society would give immediate aid to victims of the Turkish earthquake the national secretary (Commander M. C. Ashdown) said today. Commander Ashdown said he would telephone members of the society’s committee tomorrow to decide what amount should be given. He expected it would be between £5OO and £lOOO. The Red Cross international headquarters in Geneva, where the New Zealand Red Cross had funds, would use the allocated money to buy necessities for the earthquake victims.
