IT WASN’T REALLY A ROUND-UP.—A helicopter of No. 3 Battlefield Support Squadron passing low over a herd of wild horses in the “outback” of Waiouru while on reconnaissance duty. The horses are long-time occupants of the tussock country and roamed the hills long before the garrison town of Waiouru came into being. They have become accustomed to foot soldiers, tanks and artillery, but have yet to get used to helicopters, which will be used in a big Army exercise next February. An additional surprise for the horses will be parachute-assault teams of the Special Air Service.
