AIRLINE BUSY

All four N.A.C. Viscounts were back in service on Saturday to help cope with the school holiday demand for seats. They had been withdrawn recently because of minor tail or wing defects. The Christchurch branch manager for the airline (Mr J. E. Davies) said last night that six additional inward flights were operated on Saturday and 10 outward flights. Yesterday there were 13 inward flights and 11 outward.

“It has been a very busy week-end but we have been able to meet the demand,” Mr Davies said. The schedules were flown by a combination of Viscounts and Friendships.
