Schoolboy Hockey
OHRISTCHURCH will be the centre of the largest of the New Zealand secondary schools’ hockey tournaments this year when 20 teams assemble during the week-end for the first matches on Monday. These tournaments began 29 years ago and now so many teams wish to enter that several tournaments have to be held. This year 70 schools have entered six tournaments. Two teams from each tournament section will play a pool semifinal system and the final will be played at Linwood High School on August 26.
