Parliament’s Diary
Two Opposition measures, the Birkenhead Licensing Trust Bill and the Time Payment and Credit Trading Purchasers Protection Bill, received second reading discussions yesterday. The Birkenhead bill, sponsored by Mr N. J. King (Opp., Waitemata) was disallowed because it involved an appropriation. The debate on the Time Payment Bill Mr R. L. Bailey (Opp., Heretaunga) was not finished, but it is unlikely to be permitted to proceed further. The annual report of the Invercargill Licensing Trust was tabled.
