SURF RIDING
Five Clubs In Canterbury There were now five surf riding clubs in Canterbury, the president (Mr G. Broadbelt) reported to the annual meeting of the Breakwater Surf Riding Club Total competitive membership was about 200 Although the Breakwater club had been started only in May last year, it already had a membership of 40 Several of its members tiad reached the semi-finals of the New Zealand surf riding championships and D. Quane had reached the final. In the near future a large fashion parade would be held in Christchurch to augment the club’s funds, Mr Broadbelt said. Officers elected were.— President. Mr G. Broadbelt; vice president, Mr D. Quane; secretary-trea surer. Miss P. •Vi ch ols on; assistant secretarytreasurer. Miss S. Weir; club captain. Mr M. Pocock; publicity officer. Mr C.
