Boycott Of Seminar

NAPIER. The New Zealand Gymnastic Association appeared to have boycotted the Napier Gymnastic Club’s coaching seminar, the president of the club, Mr A. Ainsworth, said on Wednesday. He was disappointed at the lack of response from other centres to send gymnasts to the seminar, which would start in Napier on August 20 and continue until September 10. “Not one official or coach from the national body has expressed any interest in attending the seminar,” Mr Ainsworth said. “For a sport so lacking, by its own admission, in overseas experience, failure to accept this opportunity is puzzling.” The Napier seminar will be conducted by Mr T. Tagawa, an accredited coach for the Japanese Gymnastic Association.
