Nurses Win Fire Prevention Quiz
Three nurses from the Coronation Hospital tuberculosis annex won the teams’ event of the North Canterbury Hospital Board's annual staff fire prevention quiz. They are Sister E. McDonald and Nurses M. Woodlock and F. Candy. A team from St. Helens Hospital, led by Sister A. M. Fisher, was second, an orderlies’ team from Coronation Hospital, led by Mr T. Roberts, was third, and the Christchurch Hospital X-ray B team, led by Miss R. L. D. Purchase, was fourth. Sister Fisher also won the individual contest, with 7) points of a possible eight. Miss H. Salter, of the dieti-
cians’ department at Christchurch Hospital, was second with 61 points, Staff Nurse L. S. Cresswell, of the orthopaedic department at Christchurch Hospital, was third, and Miss K. Etrick, of the X-ray department at Princess Margaret Hospital, was fourth. The judges were Mr J. G. Laurenson, secretary to the North Canterbury Hospital Board, and Mr L. R. Osmond, the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board’s chief fire officer.
