Hutt Man’s Plans CN.Z. Fr*«« AMOCidHoni WELLINGTON. Cook Strait has another serious challenger. He is R. Gough, aged 24, from Lower Hutt, who is a Wellington surf and junior water polo representative, and a member of the Hutt Swimming and Lyall Bay Surf Life-saving Clubs. He hoped to swim the strait this summer, but final plans had not been made, Gough said yesterday. He would undertake progressively longer harbour swims, reaching up to 20 miles before he ventured Into Cook Strait
Only K. Hencox and B. Davenport have swum the strait
