FERRYMEAD PROJECT
About 40 representatives of 18 local bodies met in the Christchurch City Council chamber yesterday afternoon to hear the steering committee for the Ferrymead project explain its plans for developing land near the Heathcote river as a historical park and museum of science and industry. The committee asked the local bodies for support for a fund-raising project to be held early next year. The Deputy Mayor of Christchurch (Cr. H. P. Smith) was chairman. An informal discussion of the proposals was held afterwards.
