Pit Stops
The British R.A.C. international rally will be held as usual next year, after fears that it would have to be cancelled because of financial problems. The event will be fully sponsored by a newspaper. fic fi: fie Regulations have been issued overseas for the 1967 East African Safari rally, and next year the event will be for group two cars, not group one models as in the past. Only the sump, gearbox, axle housing and clutch housing will be sealed next year to prevent changes en route.
Supplementary regulations for the New Zealand Grand Prix meeting at Pukekohe next January have been issued. Motorcycles and single-seaters will practise on Wednesday, January 4, when no times will be taken, and all cars will be timed in practice on Thursday. The meeting on the Saturday will start at 10.30 a.m., and the main race, the last event on the programme, will start at 3.20 p.m. There are 10 races on the programme. Entries will close on October 27. fie fie fie A Mipi-Cooper won the international Polish rally recently, bringing to 12 the number of international events won by the British Motor Corporation team this season. The event covered 2000 miles of rough roads.
