HERITAGE AIDED
Work Of Air
Force Assn. The Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Air Force Association had again been active in its assistance to Heritage, and this year the association had undertaken to provide birthday and Christmas presents for two Heritage children, said the president (Mr L. G. Merrin) in his report to the annual meeting of the branch. Mr Merrin said that as the Heritage organisation did not approach the public for funds, but relied on membership subscriptions, it was important for Air Force Association members to join the organisation. Heritage endeavoured to give children the chance they would have had if it had not been for the loss or disablement of their fathers. Membership of the branch was 207, which while very good, could have been nearer the goal of 300 if some members had not let their subscriptions lapse, he said. Officers elected were: Patron, Lady Clark-Hall: president, Mr W. Reynolds; immediate past-president, Mr L. Merrin; vice-presidents, Mr C. J. Taylor and Mrs Z. Lennon; honorary treasurer, Mr J. Byrne; honorary secretary, Mr F. M. Connolly; executive, Messrs, C. V. Drummond, B. H. McMaster, L. Heath, W. Leader, and O. E. McSherry, Misses J. Palmer, J. Weir and L. Cole, and Mrs J. McNaughtan.
