The council faced quite a problem in arranging a commercial area rubbish collection, said Cr. R. S. Lester, at a meeting of the Riccarton Borough Council last evening. Some premises would have eight or nine tins or bags of rubbish to be collected twice a week, he said. The works committee had asked the engineer (Mr R. A. E. Upston) to make a report to give the council a lead.
