The dairy season is due to commence late August or beginning of September, therefore applications should be to hand by 5 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, August 17, 1966. The factory is situated at Mataura Island, which is 26 miles by good tar-sealed road east of Invercargill. A well maintained and comfortable house of 4 bedrooms is available (free tenancy), and a good primary school adjoins the factory property. The following particulars are tabulated for applicants information:— (1) The company has been in existence for 75 years and a new, air-conditioned factory was built in 1956. (2) Cheese production for 1965/66 was 410 tons, and there are prospects of this tonnage increasing. (3) Milk collection by company’s own vehicle, servicing 20 of the 23 suppliers, is due to be instituted at the commencement of the 1966/67 season. The Factory is situated in one of Southland’s good dairying districts, and the milk and cheese produced is of high quality.
