MOUNTAIN SAFETY
A meeting to stimulate interest in the Canterbury mountain safety campaign has been arranged for Monday by the Canterbury section of Federated Mountain Clubs. Headmasters of secondary schools, youth groups, and tramping, ski-ing, deerstalking and climbing clubs have been invited to send representatives to the meeting. The federation is particularly anxious to hold the meeting before the school holidays because, during the I last 20 years, avalanches have taken their toll during I this period. ; It is also proposed to hold a seminar for leaders of interested organisations to discuss recent developments, 'and a bushcraft course is ■ planned.
