Canterbury’s Two Wins The Canterbury ddvifsilon ITI badmdnton team reached the South lisdand final by beating South Canterbury, 11-5, in Timaru. Good form was shown by all the Canterbury players, particularly G. G. Ford and E. Ogier, who won alii their games. South Canterbury, however, put up a spirited fight; sdx of the games went to three sets. A former Canterbury I and IJI player, Mrs W Fowler, led South Canterbury’s challenge by winning her three games. In the junior diivision Canterbury lost only three matches. The win gave Canterbury the South Island trophy for the division Results, with Canterbury names first, were:— Division 111 Men’s Singles.—G. Ford beat J. Rowse, 15-6, 15-6; E Ogier beat L. Austin, 15-11 15-9; B. Hadlee beat H Smith, 15-8. 3-15, 15-3; R Serra lost to B. Fowler, 3-15, 15-8, 6-15. Women’s Singles.—Miss S. Dench lost to Miißis W. Fowler, I- 6-11; Mists L. Tucker beat Mrs E. Red'lily, 11-6, 11-5; Miss S. Ching beat Mis® B. Cox, 9-12, II- 12-9; Mrs A. Smith beat Mrs J. Gurdler, 11-2, 12-11. Men’s Doubles.—Ford and Serra beat Austin and Smith, 15-5, 15-12; Ogier and HadHee beat Fowler and Rowse, 15-6, 15Women’® Doubles. Missies Tucker and Dench lost to Metsdames Fowler and Gurdtler, 16- 13-15; Mils® Ch-ing and Mrs l Smith lost to Mrs Reiiily and Miss Cox, 9-15, 12-15. Mixed Doubles.—Ford and Miss Tucker beat Rowse and Mrs ReiCily, 15-1, 15-13; Ogier and Miiss Dench beat Austin and Miss Cox, 10-15, 15-6, 15-10: Hadlee and Miibis Ching lost to Fowler and Mrs Fowler, 15-13, 14- 11-15; Serra and Mrs-Smii-th beat H.
