INQUEST ON ITALIAN
Known Mafia Member (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE, Aug. 9. The police told an inquest today that a murdered Italian migrant was a known member of the Mafia, and had convictions in Italy for carrying firearms without authority, for blackmarketing, and for armed robbery. In finding that Vincenzo Angilletta, aged 47, was murdered by a person or persons unknown, the City Coroner. Mr H. W. Pascoe, S.M., said his screening “does not reflect very great credit on the people who are supposed to check applications for admission to this country.”
