DEFECTS IN STAMPS
(N.Z. Preu AtiociaUon) AUCKLAND, Aug. 9. Small defect! and irregularities have been noticed in some of this year’s health stamps. Mr R. J. Passby-Harle, of Henderson, who has discovered three different faults, two in 4d stamps depicting the weka, and one in a 3d bellbird stamp, has already been approached by collectors. The 3d stamp has a red dot of about an eighth of an inch printed below the branch on which the bellbird
Is sitting. The dot is not repeated on any of the other stamps on the sheet. On a large sheet of 4d stamps the word, "weka”. and the date. “1966,” fade considerably from left to right across the sheet. There are also different colourings in the fem background to the weka stamp on a miniature sheet owned hv Mr Passby-Harle. On most of the stamps the fern is plain green in colour. On others it is partly brown.
Mr R. D. M inson was last evening appointed to the board of governors of Si. Andrews College bv the Presbytery of Christchurch.
