Ambulances Busy
Ambulances carried more motor-accident victims last month, the secretary-treasurer of the Christchurch sub-centre of the St. John Ambulance Association (Mr G. A. Brown) reported yesterday. Eighty-eight motor accidents, involving 122 patients, were attended, compared with 83 accidents and 113 patients in June, and 77 and 90 in July last year. Altogether, 2596 patients were carried during the month, 213 more than in June, and 142 more than in July, 1965. The sub-centre’s ambulances travelled 13,266 miles, compared with 13,323 in June and 13,236 in July last year. Sixty-eight miscellaneous accidents were also attended, an increase of four on the previous month’s figure.
