LATIMER HALL
Demolition This Week
Contractors begin demolishing the Latimer Hall tomorrow and by Saturday night the building will have disappeared. Before the bulldozers are used, the contractors, Ryan Brothers, will have to cut away the north wall of the Latimer Hall from the Y.W.C.A. building. This is expected to take about two days. The site, which is owned by the Y.W.C.A., will be used as a car park until plans and finances for a new girls’ hostel have been completed. A spokesman for the firm preparing the plans, Mr J. Trengrove, said yesterday that the new building would provide 100 additional rooms.
