Self-Sealing Tyres
An American tyre which is claimed to be virtually punc-ture-proof is now on sale in Australia. It contains a special sealing compound which seals a leak immediately the tyre is pierced, and in recent tests a sample tyre was driven over nails pointing up from a board without deflating.
The tyres are available only in sizes to fit American cars, and cost about 37 Australian dollars each.
