Savings Bank Grants

Grants totalling £9065 are being made to 129 organisations and 62 school and public libraries by the Canterbury Savings Bank.

The bank’s president (Mr G. R. Burrowes) said yesterday that this year, the bank would make donations totalling £lO.OOO, and the £9065 in initial distributions had been approved by the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake). For the first time, the bank had selected a major project as deserving most attention—the project to be organised by the Canterbury Medical Foundation to conduct a diabetic survey in the bank’s area.
