ACCIDENTS IN PORT
362 Fewer In 1965 (N Z. Press Association i WELLINGTON. July 28. For the first time in recent years fewer than 3000 accidents in New Zealand ports were reported to the Marine Department. In 1965 2870 accidents occurred, 362 fewer than in 1964, says the department's annual report tabled in Parliament today.
"The position will have to be watched carefully," says j the report, “to see if this reduction is the result of the change of working hours on the waterfront.” i Six fatal accidents were recorded. four of which were directly related to cargo or associated work.
